Preschool Fun Camp
2 weeks of day camps for rising Preschoolers through Kindergarteners.  Campers will have a blast with numerous games, arts and crafts, nature activities and creative learning. 
Ages 3 to 6
Weeks of June 8 – 12 and June 15 - 19
Time:  9:00 am - 12:00 pm
Price: $190 for week

Alphabet Soup Camp (Early Childhood Literacy Development Camp)
In this camp, students will have fun reinforcing their literacy skills in a light upbeat environment. Each week will feature new and exciting activities. Students may sign-up for one or all of the weeks offered. Again this year, camp will feature the Alphabet Olympics.  Camp limited to 20 children.
Ages:  Rising JK through rising 1st grade student
Dates:  Week long Beginning June 22 and ending the week of July 20 (Final day July 24)

Cooking with Young Children
Learn to create delicious snacks and desserts that you can make at home with a few ingredients.  Campers will make a number of tasty treats from cookie cakes to pizza.  All campers will get a cookbook of the week’s recipes.  This is a great camp for every little kitchen helper.

French Baking
This camp for rising first to third graders will help your little chef to gain more knowledge in the kitchen.  Camp focuses on all snacks and treats but with special emphasis on French pastries: cream puffs, Napoleons, and cake lettering and decorating.

Week of June 15 -19
Time:  9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Stop Motion Animation Art - Morning classes FULL  *Afternoon class available NOW*

In this class you will have the opportunity to work with a variety of stop motion techniques and mediums including clay (Claymation), cut paper, everyday objects and, if we have the time, simple computer animation. Some of your favorite animated TV shows use these techniques.  All you need is patience and an imagination.
Learn to: Draw a storyboard; make sets & characters; use cameras; use computer capture software; edit rough footage; compose an original soundtrack.
When you are all done you will have your own stop motion animated film!

Robo Tinker Kids
If you like to build, tinker and be creative, this camp is for you.  Campers will learn beginning code and robotics to make a spinning swing ride and even use boxes to create an airplane, cupcake, dinosaur – creativity and ideas are endless!  Campers will use Scratch Jr., LOGO and PicoBlocks programming.  Bring a snack and enjoy some outside time with games, walks and exploration, too!
Ages: 5-8 (Entering kindergarten – end of second grade)

Programming Buffet!
Students will be introduced to a variety of programming languages with an emphasis on creativity, problem solving and fun.  Examples include; creating interactive games in Scratch and Game Maker. Programming graphics and interactive movement using Python and Processing as well as an introduction to controlling programming physical hardware such as LED lights and motors using Arduino  (C++).  All this is intended as an introductory adventure into the world of computers, no prior experience with programming is required.

LEGO Sumo Bots
This camp focuses on introducing participants to the world of LEGO robotics. They will learn about how to create robots which avoid obstacles, follow lines and lift objects. All of this with the objective of creating a LEGO Sumo bot which can push another bot out of a ring! The camp culminates in a LEGO sumo bot event.

Futsal is indoor soccer with a smaller, heavier ball than what is used during a traditional soccer match. It is commonly practiced in Brazil and European countries to improve footwork and ball skills. With an emphasis on play; participants will be introduced to positioning and teamwork during futsal soccer matches. Drills will help refine the subtleties of technique related to dribbling, shooting and tackling.

Boys Beginner Lacrosse Camp - CANCELLED
Varsity Assistant Coach, Rob Umble, will teach participants the basics of the country's fastest growing sport. Participants may borrow a stick or bring their own; no other equipment is necessary. Camp limited to 20 boys.

Summer Writing Camp (2 sessions)
This week-long summer creative writing workshop is for students in grades 6-8.  For three hours a day, students will read, discuss, and write poetry and fiction with the goal of helping them develop their creative and critical abilities with language. Camp is led by LCDS 7th grade English teacher-writer, Meghan Kenny.  Writing will be done in and outside of the classroom on the LCDS campus where students will write their own short stories and poems, and receive peer and teacher feedback for revision.  At the end of camp, students will share their writing at a public reading and publish a piece of their own writing in the camp’s anthology online.
Grades: rising 6th to 8th graders
